Amy Murphy

About Amy Murphy – Of Counsel

After clerking for a wonderful federal district court judge in Greensboro, Amy worked as a tax associate at a large firm in uptown Charlotte. She mostly took a hiatus from practicing law to raise four children and countless rescued pets, aside from a few years working for a regional firm in its finance practice. After over twelve years of juggling all the household plates while her husband built and sold a successful data aggregation company, Amy joined Thomas & Webber. She is enjoying helping the firm’s clients with their real estate needs, something she trained to do with an attorney in Belmont before a move to Wisconsin and back to North Carolina interrupted that plan.

Amy’s varied legal background and eye for detail are a great fit for assisting people in their real estate and business transactions. Most people don’t enjoy searching through the Register of Deeds, but Amy enjoys the “hunt” and vastly prefers it to emptying the dishwasher and folding laundry! If she’s not at the office, she is likely at home or driving her minivan all around the Lake Norman area with a child or two (or even a cat or dog) as she gets the family to and from their activities. If she’s really lucky, she has found a moment of peace and quiet to read a book or cook.
